Welcome back from Spring Break!!!

Welcome back from Spring Break. The Law Society has a very busy month ahead and here’s what’s going on.

1. The Law Society will be meeting today at 8pm in Paresky 220 as local attorney and alum, James Art ’93, discusses his experiences in law, including law school, judicial clerkships, as well as the big firm vs. small town experience. https://www.facebook.com/events/356137014497738/

2. Next week, the Law Society will be having a general meeting at 8pm in Paresky 220 on Wednesday, April 10th. If you are an active member or plan to become an active member, you should attend this meeting. If you cannot attend, please email me. We will be discussing membership involvement, the future direction of Society, new programs, committees and positions, and any other issues or questions that you would like addressed. If there is something you would like to add to the agenda, please send me an email (elm1).

3. The Purple Key Fair will be taking place in Town Town Field house on Monday April 15th, from 7:30-9:00 PM. This is a great opportunity to get involved, meet members of the incoming class, and encourage new membership. If you are interested in participating, please send me an email (elm1).

4. The Law Society is currently accepting applications for Open Board Positions: Public Relations Director, Assistant Law Teams Director, and Assistant Editor-in-Chief. The deadline is Wednesday April 10, 2013. For more information, please email Emanuel McMiller (elm1). 5. The Law Journal is accepting submissions on a rolling basis for its Spring and Summer Editions. If you had a legal course or are currently taking one and would like to submit your paper to be published in our publication, you can send it to us http://williamscollegelawsociety.com/lawjournal/submit/.

6. The Law Society along with the Lecture Committee and the Departments of Political Science, Astronomy, and Physics and will be hosting a Space Law Seminar on Thursday, April 18th at 7:30pm in Griffin 3. Guest panelists will include Professor Henry Hertzfeld (Elliott School of International Affairs, Space Policy Institute, George Washington University) and Professor Joanne Gabrynowicz (Director, National Center for Remote Sensing, Air, and Space Law, University of Mississippi School of Law).
